Open an Adult Day Center

But for those of us who know from our own experiences what day services mean for impaired adults and their family caregivers, the results are well worth the time, money and effort. Adult Day Services Supporters Visit Washington, DC

More than 30 adult day services supporters from 16 states made 50+ scheduled visits with legislators in Washington, DC on April 15-17, 2013.  The four primary policy priorities this year include protecting Medicaid funding, encouraging reauthorization of the Older American’s Act, advocating for adult day services to be included in the Medicare program and assuring good implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Tracking implementation of the ACA could impact policies such as hospital readmissions, accountable care organizations and state Medicaid policies.  Read more about the NADSA Public Policy Agenda.

Join adult day services supporters in for the second annual National Adult Day Services Association Capitol Hill Day in in Washington, D.C.

April 15, 2013   6:00pm Join us on Monday evening for networking. We will be gathering to meet each other, share ideas, dine together, prepare for legislative meetings. Dinner is included in registration fee. (Holiday Inn)

Rhode Island Adult Day Center Nationally Recognized for Exercise Program

Cornerstone’s Alzheimer’s Day Center in Warwick, Rhode Island, is receiving national recognition for their promotion of healthy aging with a NuStep exercise machine.  Cornerstone Adult Services, a member of Saint Elizabeth Community, was selected from 50 applicants for NuStep’s Gold Pinnacle Award in the senior center category.  Read more

CO Commission on Aging and NADSA Managing Director Visit Denver Adult Day Center

CO Commission on Aging

Members of the Colorado Commission on Aging recently toured the beautiful new facility of Seniors’ Resource Center  in Denver, CO.  Teresa Johnson, Managing Director of NADSA, was also on site to meet with Adult Day Center Director Linda Johnston.  Recent funding cuts have forced the reduction of some services, including closure of their Southwest site at 3000 S. Wadsworth Boulevard.
