    • Appraising the Value of NADSA's Certified Program Assistant Training by Marilyn Hartle and LaDonna Jensen, Jentle Harts Consulting, Indianapolis, IN. Recognize that consistent adult day services specific training can strengthen skills as well as overall programs; explore three basic components of the certification progress and outcomes when using the curriculum; explore the content of the NADSA Program Assistant Training.

    • Interface Between Policy, Program & Practice: Moving ADS Forward by Jennifer Dexter, Assistant Vice President Government Relations, Easter Seals, Washington, DC. Understand the vital role that public policy plays within the adult day services arena at the federal, state and local levels; identify what the federal, state and local policy impact is on adult day services; learn how, when and with whom to partner; identify the role of staff, volunteers, caregivers and participants can play in influencing public policy.

Understand different business models to provide rehabilitation services to adult day services participants; understand key issues related to Medicare, Medicaid, third party insurance and payment for rehab services; discuss compliance activities to determine if services meet professional care standards and billing appropriate.

    • Adult Day Services: Effectively Advocating in Washington D.C. & Becoming an Integral Part of Health Reform by Jodie Curtis and Lydia Missaelides. Learn what "lobbying" at the federal level entails and gain understanding of the federal decision making process; improve your inside-the-beltway knowledge and build your capacity to be a successful advocate; understand the political and policy process that will drive national healthcare reform; brainstorm initial adult day services health policy goals and establish next steps for further policy development.

Registration

Registration fees for the full conference include access to 17 breakout sessions, 2 keynote presentations, 5 meals, awards presentation, and an intensive training event on Sunday. NADSA Members discounted rate $299 per person, non-NADSA Members rate $399 per person, single day rate $199 per person, vendor registration (Saturday only) $250. Lodging

The St. Anthony is a national and historic landmark located in downtown San Antonio. Built in 1909, the St. Anthony has welcomed guests for over a century. It is located just steps away from the Paseo del Rio, better known as the "River Walk," with cobblestone and flagstone pathways bordering both sides of the famous river.

The St. Anthony is providing our conference attendees with a discounted rate of $149 per night for a single room and $169 per night for a double, so reserve your room no later than Noon on Tuesday, October 7, 2008. Scholarship

The MetLife Mature Market Institute, which in 2007 completed its first national cost survey of adult day services, is offering NADSA's members the opportunity to double their ability to learn and contribute to the adult day services industry.

A limited number of scholarships are available. Register one person at full registration costs ($299) and a second person will receive a 50% ($150) scholarship to cover the cost of registration. Room, board & mileage will remain your responsibility. The Scholarship Application Form includes guidelines. Complete and return the Scholarship Application by October 1, 2008.

Transportation Downtown
