New York State Adult Day Health Care Council Executive Director Retires

LogoAfter sixteen years of dedicated service, Christine M. Fitzpatrick retired as the Executive Director of the Adult Day Health Care Council—an affiliate of LeadingAge NY—in Latham, NY. Christine’s expertise went far beyond adult day services. She successfully led the organization through a maze of reimbursement changes, regulation changes and statewide mandatory managed care. Christine was also active in many NADSA task forces and advocated on many federal issues.

Christine will be missed not only for her leadership, but for her sense of humor. She always had staff at LeadingAge NY laughing with her keen political observations and social commentary. Originally from Queens, NY, she was (and is) the life of the party with her amusing stories and quick wit.

Christine has been, and still is, the finest advocate for adult day health care. She truly believes in the importance of adult day services and the staff who care for the chronically ill and elderly. The Adult Day Health Care Council is forever grateful for her unwavering support, expertise and leadership.

Christine’s dear friend and colleague from California, Lydia Missaelides, says, “I consider Christine as my sister-in-arms for the battles we fought together to save adult day health care, a dear friend and advocate who never wavered in speaking truth to power. Christine’s strong love of family and friends is an example for us all. I have to say that among my greatest achievements is converting Christine to enjoying and appreciating great California wines (sorry New York!). Christine leaves a legacy in retiring that will endure with Anne Hill’s energy and leadership.”
