ATI Advisory and the Long-Term Quality Alliance, with support from The SCAN Foundation, have developed a set of resources for plans, providers, and policymakers to advance the availability and implementation of these benefits. This report offers insight into why ADS and other new supplemental services have not been embraced by Medicare Advantage plans. The plans shifted their restricted and limited resources to in-home care to address beneficiary preferences during the pandemic. The report also notes the benefits of providers aggregating to provide single contract ability with MA organizations. The report also contains several useful links to more data and demonstrates why diversification by ADS providers could create better opportunities to become providers in MA plans. Seniors’ Desire to Age in Place Remains Overwhelmingly Popular: The COVID-19 emergency has only strengthened the desire seniors have to age in place — an already favorable position among older adults. Since the inception of NSLTCP in 2012, this is the first time that participant- and resident-level reports are being released. CDC Releases 2018 National Study of Long-Term Care Providers Public Use Files (Adult Day Services Centers; Residential Care Communities): The 2018 National Study of Long-Term Care Providers (NSLTCP) public use data files and documentation are now available for downloading. Since the inception of NSLTCP in 2012, this is the first time that public use files are being released. This release includes 4 data files: (1.) Adult day services center provider file; (2.) Adult day services center participant file; (3.) Residential care community provider file; and (4.) Residential care community resident file. The data are available in SAS and Stata file formats (as pre-made SAS and Stata datasets). Files are best viewed using Microsoft Edge, Mozilla or chrome. Please use Microsoft Edge, Mozilla or Google Chrome to download data sets.
