Nominate a Deserving Person for NADSA Award

starsIn 1984 when Shirley MacLaine won the Oscar for Best Actress for her role in the movie Terms of Endearment, her acceptance speech carried words about the recognition: “God bless that potential that we all have for making anything possible if we think we deserve it. I deserve this.”

NADSA announces that nominations are now open to honor the best of the best in the Adult Day Services industry. The honorees will receive these national awards at NADSA’s annual conference in October in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Who makes exceptional contributions related to services, education or advocacy to improve adult day services? Is there a dynamic Adult Day Center which is acclaimed by families, staff, and the community? Is there an administrator/director that goes beyond his/her call of duty to perform the responsibilities of managing and directing an Adult Day Center…or a special volunteer, direct care worker, or even an exemplary innovator in the industry? Consider, too, recognizing a business or organization that has made outstanding contributions to Adult Day Services, or an individual or organization that advances the goals of NADSA through electronic media.

Moreover, acknowledge an individual’s personal achievements and commitment in ADS as well as honoring someone who, through advocacy efforts, has increased the visibility and recognition of ADS.

For their extraordinary contributions, do they not deserve, as Shirley MacLaine put it, the ultimate reward for reaching beyond their potential to provide quality care in an adult day center setting?

Think of an individual or a Day Center that is deserving of recognition. There are nine award categories in all and nominations can be submitted by email and now electronically through the NADSA website. The nominating organization, the nominator or the nominee must hold an active membership with NADSA.

Written nominations must include the completed award application, along with a one page written narrative and two letters of support from someone other than the nominator. Download an application from NADSA’s website. Nominations should be emailed to NADSA by June 27, 2014,; with the subject line: Awards Committee Support Staff. Nominate a deserving person today.
